摘要: The story is told of a theatrical performance in Stockholm 1968 entitled Zigenare (Gypsies). After the actors would engage discussions with audience. One evening, someone noticed that there were 20 or so gypsies attendance but they not contributing to conversation. Finally direct question was posed them, and one replied, much everyone’s amazement: ‘Lousy play ... only untrue also gives wrong picture how are live.’ Feelings shock dismay pervaded atmosphere; attitude these living showed lack appreciation for efforts did correspond image projected play. To make matters worse, their ideology seemed be suspiciously bourgeois, even petty rather than radical politically progressive, as had anticipated. At last participant relieved cognitive dissonance by shouting: ‘Bloody right wing gypsies,’ he snarled. ‘The whether you really at all. (Trankell 1975, 70).
