摘要: The two 4 km long gravitational wave detectors operated by the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory (LIGO) were modified in 2008 to read out channel using DC readout form of homodyne detection and include an optical filter cavity at output detector. As part upgrade Enhanced LIGO, these modifications replaced radio-frequency (RF) heterodyne system used previously. We describe motivations for implementation mode cleaner LIGO. present characterizations system, including measurements models couplings noises from laser source channel. show that noise are improved over those RF readout, we find achieved shot-noise-limited sensitivity is consistent with modeled results.
