Case Report of Rectal Ameboma with Associated Liver Abscess

摘要: Entamoeba histolytica infections continue to be a major public health problem in developing countries such as Colombia. Although it most often presents dysentery or amebic liver abscess, there are cases which true inflammatory mass develops the colon. This is called an ameboma. These amebomas easily confused with neoplastic lesions so that absence of high level clinical and endoscopic suspicion, colon resection may performed postoperative diagnosis given by presence trophozoites without malignancy.
