It proposes an analytic framework distinguishing four types of mechanism: those which can generate positive effects; reduce negative increase and contested issues, including scale mainstreaming. then discusses the barriers evaluating ecotourism's record. These include: problems definition; use eco-labels; range inclusion within any analysis. Finally, it outlines a series future research priorities including: product enterprise analysis; value importance codes, interpretation marketing, potential significance new community political mechanisms; post-trip lifestyle change.
