摘要: A compact low-energy multibeam gamma-ray densitometer for oil/water/gas pipe-flow measurement has been built at the University of Bergen (UoB). The instrument consists one Am-241 source and three detectors, all collimated embedded in pipe wall. Only 59.5 keV radiation energy is utilized. Two detectors measure transmitted across flow, scattered a 90° angle. purpose geometry to acquire flow regime information reduce dependency gas volume fraction (GVF) measurements. enables dual modality densitometry (DMD) principle be exploited. Its basic combine order obtain salinity independent GVF otherwise strongly significant when using radiation. It also possible by this principle. laboratory prototype, it used characterising test different detector alternatives. testing includes static tests on plastic phantoms, simulated water/gas phase loop tests. Both DMD have verified provide valuable information. This paper presents physics behind, experimental results an evaluation system.
