摘要: The goal of the U.S. EPA BIOME Agroecosystems Assessment Project is to evaluate degree which agroecosystems can be technically managed, on a sustainable basis, conserve and sequester carbon, reduce accumulation carbon dioxide in atmosphere, provide reference datasets methodologies for agricultural assessment. report provides preliminary estimates sequestration potential central United States including Corn Belt, Great Lakes, portions Plains. This study region comprises 44% land area 60% 70% cropland conterminous States. assessment methodology includes integration RAMS economic model, Century soil meteorologic soils data bases, GIS display analysis capabilities order assess impacts current trends conditions, alternative tillage practices, use cover crops, Conservation Reserve Program policy.
