Similarities and differences between eating disorders and obese patients in a virtual environment for normalizing eating patterns

摘要: Virtual reality has demonstrated promising results in the treatment of eating disorders (ED); however, few studies have examined its usefulness treating obesity. The aim this study was to compare ED and obese patients on their judgment a virtual environment (VE) designed normalize pattern. A second objective which variables predicted experience forbidden-fattening food. patients, non-clinical group (N=62) experienced non-immersive VE, then completed presence measures. All participants rated VE with similar scores for quality, interaction, engagement, ecological validity; obtained highest emotional involvement, attention, judgment/presence, negative effects. gave lowest satisfaction sense physical space, they held an intermediate position attribution virtually "fattening" palatability food by attention capturing belonging group, while engagement group. This offers preliminary about differential impact exposure food, need implement that can be useful as lab studying behavior
