摘要: β-Barrel pore-forming toxins (β-PFTs) represent a unique class of bacterial protein toxins. β-PFTs act by punching holes in the membrane lipid bilayer their target host cells. Generalized mechanism β-PFT mode action shows structural paradigm that involves formation transmembrane oligomeric β-barrel pores Vibrio cholerae cytolysin (VCC) is prominent member family, and it exhibits common features general. Structure–function VCC, however, highlights distinct are not commonly documented archetypical family members. In this review, we present brief description our current understanding regarding context its pore mechanism.
