With slow ac field, anion-depletion front generated intermittently from one end nanochannel, and vortex instabilityfirst predicted by Rubinstein, Staude, Kedem [Desalination 69, 101 (1988).] found arrest self-similar diffusive growth. This electrokinetic instability evolves into stationary interfacial vortexarray that specifies current, independent external stirring or convective flow.
