摘要: Abstract : The 4FR System was employed to obtain calibrated sea return data for various states as a function of radar wavelength, polarization, and depression angle. Surface truth acquired simultaneously, utilizing laser altimetry, aerial photography, observers stationed on Argus Island. Processing the backscatter is complete, median value normalized cross section (NRCS) sigma sub 0 has been determined surface parameters. These have incorporated with resulting from previous measurement programs form comprehensive bank parametric behavior 0, which following conclusions may be drawn: (1) NRCS approaches limiting increasing roughness all frequencies polarizations. (2) For angles 5 degrees 60 degrees, growth approximated by simple empirical formulas. (3) rougher conditions observed in JOSS I mission, implied presence equilibrium range spectrum. (4) spectrum exhibited characteristic dip at higher wave numbers calm conditions. (5) cross-polarized wind.
