If libido one of important determinants aggression, as has been theorized, and if decreases with aging, then it follows should show similar aging effects. The present study examines effects age on arousal recidivism sex offenders. In first study, 1431 offenders' erectile responses were measured using volumetric phallometry during presentations visual auditory depictions prepubescent, pubescent, adult males females. maximum degree was plotted over offender at time test. Age powerful determinant line-of-best-fit indicated decreased reciprocal age-at-test. second 468 offenders released community followed for an average period five years. age-at-release examined Kaplan-Meier survival curves subjects different cohorts. Results older less likely to recommit offenses linear function age-at-release. Age-related confirmed while controlling other risk factors Cox regression analysis. implications reductions are discussed relation our understanding etiology use actuarial assessments.
