Long-term outcome in surgically treated spina bifida cystica

摘要: This report describes the long-term operative outcome of 72 patients with spina bifida cystica. The period follow-up was between 4 and 20 years. In our series, 17 died, mortality rate increasing as lesions were more rostral. All cases involving only a meningocele are living without handicap. cystica hydrocephalus had higher morbidity when compared to those hydrocephalus. We conclude that rostro-caudal location, content sac, whether there is associated important factors influencing prognosis
