摘要: Ecology is being introduced to Evolutionary Developmental Biology enhance organism-, population-, species-, and higher-taxon-level studies. This exciting, bourgeoning troika will revolutionise how investigators consider relationships among environment, ontogeny, phylogeny. Features are studied (and even defined) differently in ecology, development, evolution. Form central development evolution but peripheral ecology. Congruence (i.e., homology) applied at different hierarchical levels the three disciplines. Function ecology development. Herein, supercategories form (‘isomorphic’ or ‘allomorphic’), congruence (‘homologous’ ‘homoplastic’), function (‘adaptive’ ‘nonadaptive’) combined with two developmental mode growth) categories (‘conformational’ ‘nonconformational’) provide a 16-class system for analysing features studies which integrated.
