摘要: A computer simulation model to predict the thermal responses of an on-highway heavy duty diesel truck in transient operation was used study several important cooling system design and operating variables. The this International Harvester COF-9670 cab-over-chassis vehicle equipped with a McCord radiator, Cummins NTC-350 engine, Kysor fan-clutch shutter system, aftercooler, standard cab heater components. Input data from portions Columbus Bloomington, Indiana route were Vehicle Mission Simulation (VMS) program determine engine conditions for model. thermostat-fan, thermostat-shutter-fan, thermostat-winterfront-fan systems studied. Investigations conducted ambient temperatures -10, 32, 85, 100 deg F, full- half-vehicle load (72,000 36,000 1bm Gross Weight (GVW)), alternate routes utilizing recent improvements results show that thermostat-shutter-fan provides best performance terms coolant temperature control, minimization fan thermostat operation, adequate comfort over range temperatures.
