摘要: Cereal aphids are important as direct pests of crops and virus vectors. Several species, including the corn-leaf aphid (Rhopalosiphum maidis) green bug (Schizaphisgraminum), persist reproduce parthenogenetically throughout year in southern areas United States. They less readily or not at all northern states Canada where winters cold these reinvaded annually by migrants from south, some which likely to be viruliferous. This paper reviews studies on reinvasion phenomenon recent 'Pests Weather' project Illinois (1983-1985) radar traps mounted a helicopter were used detect cereal flight altitudes up 1100 m. A new back-tracking procedure, electrophoretic analyses and, fuel utilization determine possible sources caught. The vectors North America various difficulties encountered discussed wider geographic context relation other types It is concluded that long-range dispersal has received inadequate attention its biological economic importance.
