摘要: Abstract Upper Devonian facies sequences were studied in three different structural and paleogeographical settings within the epicontinental marginal basin of southern Poland. Facies conodont studies show that Late transgressive-regressive cycle was punctuated by several short term episodes. This started with a global transgression (most probably Lower asymmetricus Zone) which ultimately terminated development extensive Middle coral-stromatoporoid platforms. Localised Frasnian organic buildups eliminated gigas Zone parallel preceded rapid regressive pulse same zone. The eustatic character latter event is not yet clearly evidenced although some published data support such an interpretation. Frasnian/Famennian boundary (Lower/Middle triangularis marked sections distinct decrease carbonate content, interpreted terms crisis productivity. re-establishment “normal” sedimentation occurred crepida simultaneously marking onset late Famennian regression. most had only restricted geographical distribution.
