摘要: 1. Insulin-like activity (ILA) and immunoreactive insulin (IRI) of pancreatic extracts serum have been measured in lean obese (obob) mice from the Jackson Memorial Laboratory Bar Harbor, Maine; New Zealand mice; goldthioglucose-obese Swiss mice, their controls. In all three types relative amounts “suppressible” “nonsuppressible” activities also established. — 2. Pancreatic content IRI is much greater than sibblings at five months age, but smaller 5 weeks, whereas ILA are greatly excess same littermates both ages. It suggested that increased peripheral demand for preceeds synthesis storage this type obesity. 3. strains or lean, ratio biologic to immunologic was constant close unity. serum, approximately times These findings do not support notion differences structure might account biological non-obese animals; they keeping with concept a potentiation by some component mice. 4. Approximately 90% studied suppressed presence anti-insulin although absolute levels non-suppressible were similar those reported other species. unlikely, therefore, “bound” accounts significant part any animals studied. 5. Present data marked tissue-bound muscular resistance action as an important, possibly primary pathogenetic feature A similar, less can be demonstrated NZO totally absent goldthioglucose after 24 hour fast.
