The interpersonal circumplex as a model of interpersonal capabilities

摘要: In this study, we sought to challenge the existing conceptualization of interpersonal capabilities as a distinct construct from traits by explicitly taking into account general factor inherent within most models circumplexes. A sample 206 college students completed battery measures including Battery Interpersonal Capabilities (BIC; Paulhus & Martin, 1987). Principal components analysis and randomization test hypothesized order relations demonstrated that contrary previous findings, BIC adhered circular ordering. Joint with Adjective Scale (Wiggins, 1995) using principal structural equation modeling 2 represented similar constructs. Furthermore, in was not correlated self-competence, satisfaction life, or pathology.
