摘要: The health of inmates in correctional facilities has been a longstanding concern the medical community1 and historically centered on populations entering settings, which may affect risk infectious disease transmission inside these facilities.2,3 Recently, however, more attention devoted to public consequences released community, where continuity care represents challenge for treatment prevention, there is an increasing appreciation being part community they are released.4,5 In 1983, first case AIDS was reported from prison United States.6 Since that time, nearly 5% HIV/AIDS cases U.S. have facilities, although census account less than 1% population.6 This disproportionate representation garnered attention, setting over past two decades provides illustration changing evolving perspectives corrections also highlights areas improvements knowledge intervention efforts can be made.
