摘要: Abstract Putative markers of inflammation such as serum β2-microglobulin and neopterin have been shown to be transiently upregulated following interferon-β (IFN-β) administration multiple sclerosis (MS) patients. However, date the role important inflammatory mediators amyloid A protein (SAA) C-reactive (CRP) not described. Here we show that SAA but CRP is elevated in relapsing-remitting MS patients compared normal healthy individuals, furthermore both are intramuscular injection with IFN-β1a (Avonex™). This pattern expression was found parallel mirrored by a selective activation peripheral monocytes respect upregulation receptors known involved response (HLA-DR, CD16 CD86). Injection saline solution intramuscularly six control individuals did produce similar any investigated. Following injection, all responses were attenuated at week 12 therapy comparison those initial group follow-up In addition, injected on weekly basis sustained modulation investigated treated for 32 weeks.
