摘要: Background : Several studies suggested an association between periodontal disease and cardiovascular (CVD). C- reactive protein is elevated in periodontitis patients has been found to be a predictor of increased risk for disease. Since, CRP known play role pathogenesis atherosclerosis, the present study was undertaken evaluate serum levels with or without atherosclerosis. Materials Methods A total 45 patients, 15 chronic atherosclerosis (Group A), no history any systemic B), clinically healthy individuals C) within age range 30 55 years were selected study. PI, PBI, PPD, CAL radiographic marginal alveolar bone level assessed all three groups. 'Turbi-latex' kit using turbidimetric analysis. Results The mean recorded 4.9mm group A, 4.6mm B 1.9 mm C. 50% 90 95% Mean C-reactive significantly higher (8.9 mg/l), as compared (4.9 mg/l) well C (0.9 mg/l). Conclusion Within limits this it concluded that may add inflammatory burden individual result based on concentrations.
