摘要: Background Aortic stiffness is an independent risk factor for cardiovascular (CV) events and mortality. However, there are few studies about the predictive role of aortic stiffness. We investigated association between pulse-wave velocity (aPWV), using direct intra-arterial measurement future CV events, in patients with chest pain. Methods was measured through aorto-femoral, fluid-filled system at baseline 1004 Among these patients, 497 (237 male) were enrolled study. examined tertiles. Tertiles defined as follows: tertile 1, 12.50 m/sec. The impact aPWV on newly developed coronary artery disease (CAD), stroke, congestive heart failure evaluated. Results A higher associated new (odds ratio, 2.18 3 v 1; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.32 to 3.60) CAD 1.87 CI, 1.10 3.18) univariate analysis. In multivariate analysis, 2.05 1.18 3.55) 1.86 1.03 3.35). not either stroke ( P = .096) or .63). Conclusions These results suggest that
