摘要: Background: Although traumatic dislocation of the hip often occurs as a result automobile accidents, dislocations have been reported to occur during sports activities. Objective: Using experience in treating 17-year-old high school football player with posterior dislocation, complicated by involvement sciatic nerve, this case report provides background information on and description immediate treatment physician, followed 6 weeks immobilization, detailed account 5-month intervention. Case Description: The patient was injured while making tackle game when another fell him from behind. describes his plan care after reduction surgery crutches. Generally, program utilized progression non–weight-bearing resistance training stretching initial stages intervention progressed weight-bearing activities (on land pool) able tolerate more stress. In addition, nerve using electrical stimulation treadmill walking is described. Outcomes: seen an outpatient physical therapy clinic average 2 times per week for 5 months. At end months, results Lower Extremity Functional Scale (LEFS) indicated that recreational sporting were within normal limits, return playing team next year.
