摘要: Shock waves in reactive media create hot spots which undergo further temperature change (following creation) by means of (1) chemical reaction, (2) thermal conduction, and (3) adiabatic effects resulting from pressure variation. A thermodynamic description exothermic reaction under conditions variable is presented here. The rate assumed to be a function only, the Arrhenius form: effect enters through its influence on temperature. Decreasing significantly alters explosion times, can, nominal conditions, completely inhibit hot-spot reaction. This discussed terms explosive initiation unsustained shock waves. 7 refs., 2 figs.
