Use of the internal friction technique to measure rates of grain boundary sliding

摘要: Abstract Since boundaries are usually non-planar (the bamboo structure is an exception), sliding at must be accompanied by accommodation process. Small amounts of total (~100 A or strains ~10 −4 ) can accommodated elastic in the neighboring grains; this recoverable and hence strain “anelastic”. The relaxation time associated with elastically measured internal friction technique. This has been calculated when inclusions size “p” present a polycrystal grain “ d ” where p ≪ . It assumed that across boundary diffusion vacancies, whereas overall determined deformation grains. Results from measurements polycrystalline copper (with SiO 2 GeO inclusions) shown to agreement theoretical times.
