摘要: Zizania latifolia commonly known as wild rice grass which is available in huge quantities Loktak Lake a major concern it occupies large area of the and causing several environmental problems. The investigation present study was to evaluate possibilities using feed stock for bioethanol production. method involved pretreatment with dilute acid or alkali followed by enzymatic hydrolysis commercial cellulase. Acid performed 10% biomass loading different concentration acids (0.4-2% w/v) (0.25-1.5% w/v). Maximum sugar release 457 mg/g obtained from 2% w/v acids. Alkali not effective this grass. Physicochemical characterization untreated treated carried out XRD, FTIR, SEM corresponding alterations chemical composition were also monitored. Results showed feasibility biofuel (bioethanol) can be potential approach address sustainable utilization phumdis grasses production value added product.
