摘要: Climate change is one of the most severe problems facing world today. If extensive measures are not undertaken to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions within near future, natural conditions under which life depends will for worse (Pachauri et al, 2014). The transition a low carbon and sustainable future represents major transformation our society that need come about timeframe decades. This thesis attempts make contribution research field consumption thus involves questions related demand energy resources in society. In Papers I II, we examine different factors affecting variation GHG between households. Paper examines explanatory value socio-economic, geographic motivational same empirical material, while paper II specifically analyzes importance materialistic values individuals’ emissions. Results from show situational (socio-economic geographical) relation (environmental attitudes). on other hand indicates individuals with orientation tend fly more hence cause larger emissions, theoretical implications this result discussed.
