Innate (Over)immunity and Adaptive Autoimmune Disease

摘要: Autoimmune disease is characterized by clinical symptoms mediated adaptive (T cell and B cell) immune reactions towards autoantigen-expressing tissue. Here we discuss that autoimmune often preceded autoreactivity, meaning the priming of autoantigen-specific cells without relevant tissue damage. Recent experimental evidence has demonstrated both induction autoreactivity conversion into controlled activation nonspecific innate system. Also, “inflammatory status” target organ critically influences onset overt disease.
