摘要: Abstract Marine mammals living in the tropical upwelling ecosystem of Galapagos and Peru were severely affected by influx warm water during 1982/83 El Nino. The fur seal (Arctocephalus palapapoensis) population suffered considerable mortality; 4 youngest age classes almost completely lost, along with 30% adult population. All larger males, which territorial Nino, disappeared presumably died. sea lion (Zalophus callfornianus wollebaeki) lost most 1982 year class had a greatly reduced birth rate breeding season following High mortality was also reported for South American australis) (Otaria byronia) on southern coast Peru.
