摘要: Atrial transseptal puncture as a means of accessing the left heart is critical component catheter ablation procedures for atrial fibrillation, left-sided accessory pathways, and access to ventricle in patients with certain types prosthetic aortic valves. Although this technique has been performed successfully since 1950s, severe potentially life-threatening complications can still occur, including cardiac tamponade and/or death. Some have adopted use intracardiac echocardiography, but our laboratory many others throughout world relied on fluoroscopic imaging alone. The aim brief report describe detail performing punctures during fibrillation. We employ similar approach when targeting although only single those cases. Utilizing series real-time video clips, we double illustrate ways which avoid common pitfalls.
