摘要: This paper describes the simultaneous reduction of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and particulate matter (PM) in a modern light-duty diesel engine under high exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) levels. Simultaneous NOx PM emissions was observed lean conditions at several low to moderate load using two different approaches. The first approach utilizes throttle increase EGR rate beyond maximum possible with sole use valve for particular condition. second does not throttle, but rather uses combination manipulation injection parameters. A significant size concentration corresponding mass. accompanied by shift heat release profile. In addition, there were cylinder-to-cylinder variations characteristics, gaseous emissions, release. fuel penalty is associated operating regime when are no modifications strategy. Preliminary experiments indicate that can be eliminated or reduced few percent while still maintaining PM. An improved understanding this combustion will lead utilization lowering performance requirements post-combustion controls.
