摘要: Regular exercise and high calcium intake possibly help to preserve bone mass. Little is known, however, about their role in preventing hip fracture. The physical activity of 300 elderly men women with fractures were compared those 600 controls matched for age sex. In both sexes increased daily activity, including standing, walking, climbing stairs, carrying, housework, gardening protected against This was independent other known risk factors, body mass, cigarette smoking, alcohol consumption. Strength grip correlated inversely related the Calcium not fracture women. Men intakes above 1g had lower risks. These findings point importance people Britain maintaining day lives.
