摘要: Abstract Most glycosaminoglycan (GAG)‐defective mutants have been isolated and characterized from Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells. Wild‐type GAG‐defective CHO cells used by several hundreds of laboratories to study how altering the GAG structure proteoglycans affects fundamental properties cells, such as bacterial/viral infection, signaling, protein degradation, cell adhesion. This chapter describes methods construct characterize new lines with gain‐of‐function structures. These novel allow herpes simplex virus (HSV) entry or anticoagulant that are not possessed wild‐type The method biosynthetic mechanisms control specific sequence assembly is also described.
