摘要: Because thrombus formation at the site of endothelial injury has been thought to be a critical step in pathogenesis bacterial endocarditis, effect aspirin on experimental valvular thrombosis and endocarditis rabbits was evaluated. Aortic were induced aspirin-treated control with intracardiac catheters. A subsequent inoculation Streptococcus viridans resulted development infective endocarditis. Rabbits sacrificed as early 6 hr, effectiveness determined by weight sterile vegetations quantitation bacteria thrombotic vegetation. Aspirin, levels excess 50 mg/dl did not attenuate evolution since vegetation similar those controls.
