摘要: Mutations in the age-1 gene double both mean and maximum life span of Caenorhabditis elegans. They also result an age-specific increase catalase Cu/Zn superoxide dismutase activity levels. The higher levels mutants confer hyperresistance to superoxide-anion-generating drug paraquat. rate anion production by microsome fractions declines linearly with age age-1(+) worms, but, after initial decline, is stabilized at a level senescent mutant nematodes. These results clearly show that oxidative stress resistance potential are correlated this organism, they suggest natural product either directly or indirectly downregulates activities several other genes as function age.
