摘要: The influence of breaking waves on the dynamics upper ocean is estimated using concept an energy balance between wind and waves. rate release from wave calculated by statistical model proposed Longuet-Higgins (1969). It found that result this calculation depends only one parameter, significant slope, defined used Huang Long (1980). Treating released as sole source turbulent energy, various models are constructed to simulate a wide variety dynamical phenomena in layer. quantities these include surface drift, whitecapping percentage, mixing efficiency. This treatment first-order approximation reality but technique does first quantitative estimates effect layer dynamics. One advantages present approach inputs all obtainable remote sensors. Possible future extensions improvements also discussed. believed presented here offer new look for study ocean. Additional studies attention investigators required bring full fruition.
