摘要: Over a 2-year period, we progressively removed perch from three ponds using combination of gill and fyke nets small minnow traps. Resulting changes in the fish community were compared with control ponds. Large adult dominated communities ponds, suggesting cannibalism was regulating these populations. In two removal largely successful, marked increase abundance common bullies occurred. third pond high juvenile recruitment occurred, presumably because absence cannibalistic fish. Physical appears to be an option for relatively lentic habitats where desirable non-target species are present. It is recommended that removals conducted autumn reduce risk recruitment.
