摘要: OBJECTIVE This study examined parental factors associated with outcomes of youth in the Treatment Options for type 2 Diabetes Adolescents and Youth (TODAY) clinical trial. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS Of 699 diabetes TODAY cohort, 623 (89.1%) had a parent participate provide data at baseline, including weight, HbA 1c , blood pressure, symptoms depression, binge eating (BE), medical history. were followed 2–6.5 years. Data analyzed using regression models survival curve methods. RESULTS Parental (43.6% parents) was higher baseline ( P = 0.0002). hypertension (40.6% during (40.4% vs. 27.4% without hypertension, 0.0008) BMI z scores 0.0038). Parents mean 33.6 kg/m . obesity (BMI >30 ) 0.0430); subclinical BE parents related to presence 0.0354) depressive 0.0326) throughout period. CONCLUSIONS lack glycemic control, youth. Further research is needed better understand address biological behavioral improve health outcomes.
