摘要: Electron‐transparent dislocation‐free platelets of cadmium were deformed in tension parallel to the basal plane, inside an electron microscope, temperature range from +25° −150°C. At high strain rates crystals twinned. low (≲10−2 sec−1) glide system depended on α, angle between tensile axis and a close‐packing direction. For 0≤α≲20° pyramidal (1122) [1123] occurred. 20°≲α≤30° new system, (1011) [1210], was identified which has not yet been observed large crystals. Edge dislocations with ⅓[1210] Burgers vector moved across entire crystal planes without multiplying or forming obstacles further glide. Occasionally, at strain, fracture occurred plane. The observations suggested that, studied, flow stress for [1210] considerably lower than that prismatic (1010) slightly higher glide, independent given temperature.
