摘要: Archaeologists often characterize small scale societies as egalitarian and uniform. We tend to see the experiences of people who made up these similar. I argue instead that most contained a variety statuses, including those whose social position was marginal. examine one such category person, captives, were common in worldwide. suggest their lives could be significantly different from other group members presence, labor, skills create status power for captor members.
