摘要: On being shown the names of two towns geography students determined whether one was north (say) other. Reaction time decreased as distance between increased. This finding explained by supposing that subjects attempt to make inferences (about town is another) first accessing stored information specifies a town's location only crudely; when this insufficient relevant inference more finely discriminating accessed.
