摘要: Pinewood nematode is native to North America and has been a deadly exotic pest infecting pine forests in Japan since the 1900s. It was first recorded 1982 subtropical China aggressively spread 113 counties 14 provinces. As of 2007 disease infected over one million hectares 44 trees 1982–2007. Besides inspection quarantine, main policy control this eradicate pines, which costly only partially effective. We investigated community structure four Pinus massoniana plantations with similar age site conditions that were infested by pinewood at different times (0, 4, 8, 12 years), zonal evergreen broad-leaved forest nearby. Our results demonstrate infection accelerated succession from higher economical values provide more ecological services. The conversion natural an urgent challenge facing today. Thus, infestation provides unique opportunity for pine-dominated into we therefore suggest government should invest its limited resources based on appropriate trade-off between economic loss gain.
