摘要: Abstract In this article, we present an overview of current techniques used for foveating images and video. We provide a brief introduction to relevant aspects the human visual system how they motivate idea foveated, or variable resolution, images. explore foveation as perceptually lossless compression scheme can be integrated into modern video coding algorithms. also efficient processing that is useful when resources, such bandwidth computation, are constrained. discuss algorithms performing tasks, search detection, with foveated imaging systems. examine behavior similar tasks gain insight best design these tasks. look at some more promising applications video, teleoperation, well open issues problems, including fixation selection. then conclude what believe future trends fascinating area research.
