摘要: Functional bacterial amyloids (FuBA) are important components in many environmental biofilms where they provide structural integrity to the biofilm, mediate aggregation and may function as virulence factor by binding specifically host cell molecules. A novel FuBA system, Fap was previously characterized genus Pseudomonas, however, very little is known about phylogenetic diversity of bacteria with genetic capacity apply this system. Studies genomes public metagenomes from a diverse range habitats showed that system restricted only three classes phylum Proteobacteria, Beta-, Gamma- Deltaproteobacteria. The organization fap genes into single fapABCDEF operon well conserved minor variations such frequent deletion fapA. high degree variation seen within primary structure major fibril monomers, FapC, whereas FapB, less sequence variation. Comparison trees based on proteins 16S rRNA gene corresponding remarkably similar overall topology. This indicates, horizontal transfer an infrequent event evolution
