摘要: Based on our studies with 10 geographic populations of Chrysopa carnea , we recommend that biological control programs involving this predator use "pure" stock originating from eastern and midwestern North America. Of the two strains (races or biotypes) C . — mohave is superior choice for commercial crops in both western America because (1) its preoviposition period approximately one-half as long ’s, (2) unlike adults, neither sex strain requires prey successful mating initiating oviposition, (3) ’s oviposition can be enhanced field by applying currently available food sprays, (4) efficient to mass-rear a basis. The “pure” race restricted limited areas west coast. This race, which enter food-mediated summer diapause, more suitable coast non-agricultural situations dominated native vegetation, where occurrence highly variable during summer. Most agricultural are composed intermediates between races. F 1 hybrids produced crossing individuals intermediate populations, show predominantly characteristics, inheritance distinguishing traits appears controlled polygenes.
