摘要: Background Fiber-optically targeted ultraviolet B (UVB) therapy has been shown to clear plaques of psoriasis in a significantly fewer number treatments and reduce overall cumulative UVB dose than traditional phototherapy. Objective This article reviews existing theories the literature attempting explain superior efficacy UVB. Methods Medline was used perform comprehensive review from 1965 present. Only information English language journals are reported this study. Results The proposed higher excimer (XeCl) laser relative include ability use intensities (UV) light more efficient induction T cell apoptosis. Conclusion possible explanations for over include: 1) intensity UV plaques, which is effective clearing psoriasis; 2) penetration into dermis where it may induce apoptosis, potentially greater extent wavelength or given energy level predicts; 3) difference delivery result death skin immune system suppression effectively
