摘要: Summary It is the aim of presurgical infant orthopedics (PSIO) to reduce width cleft and achieve optimal alignment palate segments within first few months infancy prior any surgical closure. The question about amount that PSIO can stimulate steer growth maxilla using a Hotz Gnoinski passive appliance has not yet been satisfactorily answered. In this study, 3-dimensional digital computer-aided procedure was developed analyze metrically visualize edentulous lip in infants. pilot series scans consecutive plaster casts carried out. 5 infants with complete unilateral (UCLP), who had treated appliances were evaluated. Impressions taken at age one week after 3, 6 12 months. Following digitizing, computer-reconstructed segmented perpendicular alveolar crest, reference points being C1, C1′, C2, C2′ I. volume resulting ascertained. Computer superimposition reconstructed employed facilitate visualization extent direction morphological changes. Our results have shown our method it possible quantify rate defined maxilla. analysis presented here will be basis for further studies objectify PSIO.
