摘要: Earlier phylogenetic studies based on the inferred DNA sequences of polC, rpoB and gyrA genes suggested that strains species Bacillus subtilis formed two clusters, indicating presence closely related taxa; one contained laboratory strain 168 other W23. Significant sexual isolation was found between members group containing W23, but no observed group. reassociation groups ranged from 58 to 69% intragroup relatedness 82 100%. Because were highly B. type strain, they considered be bona fide species. About 99.5% sequence identity 16S rRNA W23 groups. Ribitol anhydroribitol principal cell wall constituents not These observations revealed genetically phenotypically distinct within correspond historically important strains. Subspecies distinction is proposed for groups, with names subsp. nov. spizizenii nov., respectively. The former NRRL NRS-744T latter B-23049T.
