摘要: The aim of the research described in this chapter was to investigate whether use nursing process can provide childbearing women with a better quality care than that provided by approach usually practised midwives. study undertaken part fulfilment requirements an MSc. course at University Manchester and funded Department Health Social Security Research Studentship. This meant time resources were not available consider all aspects relation midwifery. It decided therefore focus only on assessment (the first stage process) context just one aspect woman’s pregnancy: all-important antenatal booking interview. interview is important for two main reasons. First, it should enable midwife obtain picture whole woman make baseline observations which plan future assess subsequent progress. Secondly, ‘shopfront’ hospital maternity services contact service. By interviewing using their care, possible evaluate extent traditional history-taking effectively obtained information relevant provision midwifery care.
