摘要: The Kras gene is mutated to an oncogenic form in most pancreatic tumors. However, early attempts use this molecule as a specific biomarker of the disease, or inhibit its activity cancer therapy, failed. This left situation which everyone was aware association between important oncogene and cancer, but no one knew what do about it. Recent findings have changed picture—many assumptions made KRAS role were found be incorrect. Several factors contributed increased understanding activities KRAS, including creation genetically engineered mouse models, allowed for detailed analyses carcinogenesis intact animal with competent immune system. Cancer genome sequencing projects our heterogeneity individual We also better oncogenes are tumor maintenance therefore called “drivers.” review advances limitations knowledge development cancers areas future research.
